STROKE AWARNESS

The Green Bay Gamblers and Aurora BayCare hosted the team’s annual Stroke Awareness Night, Friday, March 4.  The game raised $2,212 for the BayCare Clinic Foundation Stroke Fund.

During the 1st intermission the Gamblers recognized Deb Pribek, Shawn Sieold, Brooklyn VanLanen and Mary Bertrand of the Kewaunee Area Ambulance Service. While off duty, Bertrand recognized a gentleman showing stroke symptoms and quickly activated 911. Shawn, Brooklyn and Mary responded to the 911 call. The team quickly collected the patient’s history, begin stroke care in the field and safely transported the patient to a local comprehensive stroke center. Due to their quick recognition and EMS training, the patient received the timely care he needed and was able to make a full recovery.

Aurora BayCare has served as the Gamblers medical provider since 2003.  Aurora BayCare provides the Gamblers with their athletic trainer, doctors and other resources.
