GAMBLERS SWEEP LINCOLN

Green Bay hosted the Lincoln Stars this past weekend for their first two wins at the Resch this
season. These wins improved the Gamblers’ record to 11-5-1, while the Stars fell to 3-9-0-2.

Friday night saw the Gamblers triumph 5-2 over the Stars. The highlight of the game would be
that the four Green Bay captains led by example by scoring a goal each. Chris Romaine started
the trend in the first by getting his first goal on home ice in his career. The goal was followed
swiftly by Libor Nemec a few minutes later. Defender Josh Player was the next alternate to grab
a goal with his shot early in the third period, followed by captain Mikey DeAngelo to score the
fifth and final goal of the game for Green Bay. The only non-captain for the Gamblers who
grabbed a goal was Brady Zugec, who scored the second goal of the game in the first and in the
process scored his first Gambler goal. Both of the Lincoln goals were scored by Dashel Oliver.
All three stars of the game were Gambler players. The first star went to goaltender Adam Gajan
who made 37 saves on the night, the second went to DeAngelo with a goal and an assist, while
the third star went to Romaine with a goal and an assist.

Saturday night’s game saw the same 5-2 scoreline in favor of Green Bay. Player and Romaine
continued their scoring form from the night before by scoring the first, and third Gambler goals
of the night. The second goal was scored by Julian Lutz, who scored his seventh goal of the
season. Those three goals gave the Gamblers a 3-0 lead at the beginning of the second. The
fourth and fifth goals were scored in the third period by Tanner Bruender and Jayson
Shaugabay to wrap the scoring up for Green Bay. Lincoln first got on the board to make it a 3-1
game through Jack Pechar, while they scored the final goal of the game with 22 seconds left
through German Yavash. For the second consecutive night, all three stars of the game were
from Green Bay. Romaine earned the first star with a goal and two assists, Shaugabay earned
the second star with a goal and two assists, while the final star went to Lutz with a goal and an
assist.
