CARLE, DAVIS, WEBSTER WIN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Matt Davis, and McKade Webster, Gambler alumni and current players for Denver University, helped the Pioneers win the NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey National Championship in a 5-1 win against Minnesota State while being guided by head coach David Carle, a coaching alumnus for the Gamblers.

It wasn’t until the third period where Denver saw the championship in sight, In the third, the team put up five goals after being down 1-0 for a majority of the contest. The win gives Denver their ninth NCAA hockey championship, tying Michigan for the most all-time.

Webster finishes his year with 14 points on six goals and eight assists in eight games played. Davis finishes his year with a save percentage of .923% and 1.96 goals against average in six games played.

We want to congratulate Carle, Davis, Webster, and the rest of the Pioneers on their incredible achievement.
