The Green Bay Gamblers ventured to Muskegon, Michigan this past weekend for a pair of games versus the 1st place Lumberjacks. After falling to the Jacks 8-3 on Friday, the Gamblers earned a weekend split with a 6-3 win on Saturday. Green Bay sits at 8-8-3 on the 2018-19 regular season.
Muskegon tallied three goals in the first and third periods for 8-3 win over the Green Bay Gamblers on Friday at the L.C. Walker Arena in Muskegon, Michigan. Green Bay got goals from Noah Prokop, Jesse Tucker and Paul Maust. Goaltender Jake Begley made 25 saves.
Green Bay scored four third period goals and Evan Fear made 37 saves to backstop the Gamblers to a 6-3 win over Muskegon on Saturday. The win was the Gamblers 7th road victory on the young season. After a scoreless first period, the Gamblers grabbed a 1-0 lead on a Chris Giroday goal. After Muskegon tied the game, Green Bay grabbed a 2-1 lead on Nick Leitner’s first of the season. Green Bay salted the game away with four goals in the first 5-minutes and 16-seconds of the third period. Jesse Tucker (2:42), Nicholas Zabaneh (4:04), Noah Ganske (4:19) and Paul Maust (5:16) all found the back of the net to give the Gamblers a 6-1 lead. Muskegon tallied a pair of goals late to round out the scoring.
Green Bay returns to the Resch Center this Friday, as they play host to Muskegon. Game time is 7:05 PM. Tickets start at $10 in the bowl and $27 for beverage inclusive seating.
