The Green Bay Gamblers announced that forward Ritter Coombs has signed a standard player agreement with the team for the 2026-27 United States Hockey League (USHL) season.
Coombs, who turns 20 in November, is a native of Jamestown, N.Y. He was acquired from the Sioux Falls Stampede for a package of draft choices in the offseason.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound left wing scored six goals and 10 points with 84 penalty minutes in 51 games with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) during the 2025-26 season. He split the 2024-25 season in the USHL with the Dubuque Fighting Saints and Sioux Falls Stampede, where he tallied 10 goals and 23 points with 144 penalty minutes in 50 regular season games. Coombs added 27 penalty minutes in three scoreless games during the 2025 USHL playoffs. Additionally, he scored two goals and three points (49 penalty minutes) in nine combined games with the El Paso Rhinos of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) at the end of the 2023-24 and 2022-23 seasons.
Prior to his junior career, Coombs played two years of prep school hockey at Northwood School in Lake Placid, N.Y., scoring 60 goals and 122 points with 273 penalty minutes in 153 games from 2022-24. He was a standout power forward for Jamestown High School in New York before enrolling at Northwood.
Coombs was drafted in the fifth round (72nd overall) of the 2023 USHL Entry Draft by the Dubuque Fighting Saints. He is committed to Providence College for the 2027-28 hockey season.
