SHAUGABAY TAKES RUNNER-UP IN STATE FINAL

Jayson Shaugabay, Gambler affiliate and current forward for Warroad high, helped his team place second in the Minnesota Class A State Championship. In the buildup to the state final, Shaugabay, who also serves as team captain, would give the Warriors some of his best performances. GAMBLERS TO PARTICIPATE IN FROZEN FOUR

The NCAA set the bracket for the 2022 men’s hockey tournament last Sunday. With this, the Gamblers will see over 20 alumni taking part in the tournament. The Green Bay Gamblers will play the Muskegon Lumberjacks in a pair of away games on Friday, March 25, and Saturday, March 26, followed by a matinee game with Team USA on Sunday, March 27. McNicholas Wins Elite 8 Championship

Austin McNicholas, Gambler affiliate and current goalie for Salisbury School, just helped the team continue its dominance of prep school hockey as they defeated Belmont Hill 4-1 on Sunday, March 6. This marks back-to-back titles for the Knights, and the seventh NEPSAC championship in school history. McNicholas is in his first full season with Salisbury McNicholas Wins Elite 8 Championship

The Green Bay Gamblers will play the Madison Capitols in a home-and-home series on Saturday, March 19, and Sunday, March 20. The Gamblers will host the Sunday contest at the Resch Center. STROKE AWARNESS

The Green Bay Gamblers and Aurora BayCare hosted the team’s annual Stroke Awareness Night, Friday, March 4.  The game raised $2,212 for the BayCare Clinic Foundation Stroke Fund. During the 1st intermission the Gamblers recognized Deb Pribek, Shawn Sieold, Brooklyn VanLanen and Mary Bertrand of the Kewaunee Area Ambulance Service. While off duty, Bertrand recognized STROKE AWARNESS

Weekend Preview / March 11-13

The Green Bay Gamblers will play the Youngstown Phantoms in a trio of games from Friday, March 11, through Sunday, March 13. Youngstown will host all three games. These will be the sixth and seventh meetings between the teams, and the Gamblers are currently 2-3 against the Phantoms. The teams last played each other on Weekend Preview / March 11-13
