The Green Bay Gamblers announced on Tuesday that defenseman Nick Leitner has been named team captain. Leitner was acquired this summer after spending the previous two seasons in Des Moines. The Bemidji, Minnesota native currently ranks fourth among all USHL Defenseman in points (7).
“Nick brings a ton of experience to our program”, says Gamblers Head Coach/General Manager Pat Mikesch. “He is a player who leads by example on the ice and in the locker room. Great role model for our team and a fine example for the younger players on what it takes to be successful in this league.”
Forwards Noah Prokop and Rory Herrman were named assistant captains. Prokop is in his second-year with the Gamblers. In 2017-18, the Nebraska-Omaha commit tallied 19 points in 56 games. This season, Prokop has three goals and an assist in 11 games.
Herrman is in his third season with the Gamblers. The R.P.I. commit leads the team in scoring with eight points. In 106 career USHL games, Herrman has 35 points and 140 penalty minutes.
The Gamblers next home game is at the Brown County Arena on Saturday, November 10. Game is presented by Labatt Blue.
