Gamblers Acquire Baker from Omaha

The Green Bay Gamblers have acquired defenseman Luke Baker from the Omaha Lancers and a 10th round 2024 Phase 1 pick in exchange for a 2024, Phase 1 5th round pick and a 2025 Phase 2 3rd round pick.

This past season Baker appeared in 47 games with the Lancers, registering 5 points (1 goal, 4 assists).  Prior to his time in the USHL with the Lancers, the Howell, Michigan native, played for the North Jersey Avalanche 16U team notching 35 points (24 goals, 11 assists) in 22 games. Baker is committed to Michigan State University.

“We are really excited to have Luke join our group,” said Gamblers Head Coach/General Manager Mike Leone. “He adds a physical element I think we needed in our group. He can skate, a good defender and has the ability to get pucks out of our zone. Any time you can add a second-year player, I think it is extremely beneficial.”

The 2023-2024 campaign marks the 30th year of Gamblers hockey in the United States Hockey League. Stay tuned to the Gamblers social media platforms for the latest team news.
