Gamblers Sign Katzin to a Tender

The Green Bay Gamblers are proud to announce they have signed forward Lev Katzin to a tender.  Katzin has split time this season with St. Andrew’s College and the Toronto Marlboros Under-16 team of the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL). A native of Thornhill, Ontario, Katzin is a highly skilled centerman, with dynamic speed and elite hockey sense. In 64 GTHL games this season with the Marlies, Katzin has 42 goals, 78 assists and 120 points.

Katzin is the first tender signed by the Gamblers since Brent Gates Jr. in 2013.

The United States Hockey League allows each of its member teams to tender up to two players that are eligible for the upcoming Phase 1 USHL Draft.  This year’s Phase 1 draft consists of players born in 2007.

“We are thrilled to add a player of Lev’s caliber to our group for next season and beyond,” said Head Coach and General Manager Michael Leone. “He’s intelligent and dynamic; a winning hockey player with the character and values that embody the Green Bay Gamblers organization and all we stand for.

“I would like to thank members scouting staff, Tim MacLean and Chris Collins for identifying Lev. Without them, none of this would be possible.”

The Gamblers are in action this Friday and Saturday at the Resch Center against Team USA. Tickets available at the Resch Center box office or online at gamblershockey.com. Box office opens at 10:00 AM. Puck drop for both games, 7:05 PM.
