Trade Alert! Gamblers Acquire Ray Vitolins

The Gamblers have made a trade with the Sioux Falls Stampede.

Green Bay has acquired 2002 Latvian center Raimonds “Ray” Vitolins for a conditional 2023 Phase II Draft pick.

Vitolins is a native of Ogre, and is a product of his country’s storied Riga HS program. Ray comes back to the USHL after 2 years at the University of Vermont in the Hockey East. He also was on Latvia’s 2022 World Jr. (Under-20) Championship team this past summer, wearing the ‘A’ as an assistant captain. That team upset Czechia 5-2 on Aug. 14 for Latvia’s first ever preliminary round playoff win at the IIHF U20 WJC, advancing to the quarterfinal before falling to Sweden, 2-1.

Vitolins finished the 2019-20 USHL season with the Stampede before heading to the NCAA.

The Gamblers home opener for their 28th season in Northeast Wisconsin is Friday, September 30.
