The Green Bay Gamblers (18-20-2-1) fell to the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders (17-20-1-1) in a 4-2 loss Friday night at the Resch Center.
Cedar Rapids would start the scoring with 2 goals in the first. However, later in the period, the Gamblers would add a Cameron Lund (14) power play goal to make it 2-1 heading into first intermission. The second would see neither team score with one period left to play. The third would be a repeat of the first period, with Cedar Rapids scoring twice and the Gamblers adding a goal late from Nicholas VanTassell (9) as the Gamblers would drop the 4-2 contest.
Cameron Lund and Nicholas Vantassell scored 1 goal each for the Gamblers. Lund was assisted by Brody Lamb (11) and Ryan Greene (21) while VanTassell’s goal was unassisted. In net, goalie Aaron Randazzo played all 60 minutes, saving 35 of 39 shots, allowing 4 goals.
Green Bay will play Team USA (11-17-3) in Plymouth, Mich. Friday, February 25, at USA Hockey Arena.
Cedar Rapids will play the Waterloo Black Hawks (18-18-2-1) in Cedar Rapids Saturday, February 19, at Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.
