The Green Bay Gamblers (5-4) fell to the Madison Capitols (8-2-1) 4-2 Saturday afternoon at the Resch Center. The first period was quiet until Matt Deboer (2) gave the Gamblers the lead just before the horn signaled the period’s end. However, a late second period goal from Madison would tie the contest heading into the third. Madison would score three times in the last third of the game, including an empty net goal, and after a late Nicholas Vantassell (4) score, the game would end in a final score of 4-2.
Deboer set the tone for the Gamblers, scoring 1 goal, giving him a goal in back-to-back games against Madison. VanTassell continues finding the net, scoring his fourth goal of the season, giving him the third-highest total on the team. Camron VanSickle (2) assisted VanTassell on his goal. Defensively, Aaron Randazzo played all 60 minutes, saving 37 of 40 shots, allowing 3 goals.
Green Bay will play the Chicago Steel (6-1-1) in Chicago Friday, November 5, at Fox Valley Ice Arena.
Madison will once again play the Gamblers in Madison Saturday, November 6, at Bob Suter Capitol Ice.
