The Green Bay Gamblers finished their three-game weekend 0-1-2. After falling to Dubuque 6-5 on the road on Friday, the Gamblers dropped a pair of games at the Resch Center, losing to Madison 4-3 in overtime on Saturday and Cedar Rapids 3-2 in a shootout on Sunday. With 17 games remaining in the regular season, Green Bay sits in 8th place in the USHL Eastern Division with a mark of 14-21-8, six points out of the 6th and final Clark Cup Playoffs spot.
Green Bay traveled to Dubuque, Iowa on Friday for a date with the Fighting Saints. Forwards Gleb Murtazin and Rory Hermann each tallied a pair of goals, but the Gamblers came up short 6-5. Nicholas Zabenah also chipped in with a goal and Jackson Perbix notched a pair of assists. Goaltender Maksim Zhukov suffered the loss (22 saves).
In front of a sellout crowd of 8,095 at the Resch Center the Gamblers fell to the Madison Capitols 4-3 in overtime on Saturday. Nicholas Zabenah and Jesse Tucker each notched a goal and an assist. Noah Prokop also found the back of the net, and for a second straight game Jackson Perbix tallied a pair of assists. Goaltender Ryan Ullan made 29 saves in the loss. Green Bay had 40 shots on goal.
Green Bay erased a 2-0 deficit but fell in a shootout 3-2 to Cedar Rapids on Sunday afternoon at the Resch Center. Rory Herrman and Benito Posa each had a goal and an assist for the Gamblers. Maksim Zhukov stopped 31 shots in the shootout loss.
