The Green Bay Gamblers announced on Monday that they have traded defenseman Ethan Frisch and forward Rory Herrman to the Fargo Force. In exchange the Gamblers receive forward Ryan O’Reilly and defenseman Xan Gurney. Gamblers also receive a 2020 3rd Round Phase 1 pick. O’Reilly and Gurney are expected to be in the Gamblers line-up on Wednesday.
O’Reilly (3/21/2000) is in his second year in the USHL. Last season, the University of Denver commit was named to the USHL All-Rookie Second team after tallying 21 goals and 13 assists in 45 games with the Madison Capitols. Traded to Fargo prior to the season, the Southlake, Texas native as 11 goals and nine assists in 41 games.
A winner of two Clark Cups, Gurney (5/28/00) has appeared in 33 games with the Force, notching seven assists and 70 penalty minutes. Gurney hoisted the Clark Cup in 2017 with the Chicago Steel and again in 2018 as a member of the Force. A native of Grosse Ile, Michigan, Gurney is committed to Western Michigan University.
Frisch leaves the Gamblers after posting 14 points (2g & 12a) in 41 games. The Moorhead, Minnesota native saw action in 14 games last season, producing six assists. Frisch is committed to the University of North Dakota (2019).
Herrman is in his third season with the Gamblers. In 36 games, the Poway, California native had 22 points (10g & 12a). In 128 career games with the Gamblers, Herrman produced 22 goals, 27 assists and 167 penalty minutes. Herrman is committed to R.P.I. (2019).
Gamblers host the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders at the Resch Center this Wednesday. They are also home on Saturday, March 2 and Sunday, March 3. The Green Bay Gamblers went 0-1-1 on the weekend. After falling 4-3 in a shootout on Friday in Madison, the Gamblers fell 3-1 to the Central Illinois Flying Aces on Saturday at the Resch Center. Gamblers sit in 8th place in the USHL Eastern Division with a mark of
14-22-9. With 17 games remaining the Gamblers sit six points out of the 6th and final Clark Cup Playoff spot.
Goaltender Joseph Lamoreaux made 31 saves and stopped four of five in the shootout to backstop the Madison Capitols to a 4-3 shootout win over the Gamblers on Friday in Madison. Chase Pilawski, Jesse Tucker and Benito Posa scored for Green Bay. Defenseman Tyler Spott chipped in with a pair of assists. Maksim Zhukov made 39-saves in the loss.
Goaltenders Ryan Snowden and Mitchell Gibson combined for 38-saves to lead Central Illinois to a 3-1 win over Green Bay on Saturday at the Resch Center. Noah Prokop tallied the lone goal for Green Bay. The Prokop goal set-off the Teddy Bear Toss. When it was all said and done, the crowd of 7,441 tossed 7,202 stuffed animals onto the ice. In the 20-year history of the Teddy Bear Toss, the fans have tossed over 119,000 stuffed animals. The stuffed animals are donated to the Pediatric Care units at Aurora BayCare as well as other charities in Northeast Wisconsin that focus on the family.

On Saturday, February 23, a crowd of 7,441, tossed 7,202 bears on the ice during the team’s annual Teddy Bear Toss presented by WPS Health Insurance. In its 20th year, the Teddy Bear Toss has collected more than 100,000 stuffed animals.
The bears came out late in the second period when forward Noah Prokop scored.
In the 20-year history of the Teddy Bear Toss, the Gamblers and their fans have tossed and donated 119,888 stuffed animals to local hospitals and other charities across Northeast Wisconsin.
Dating back to 2000, the Teddy Bear Toss is a one time yearly event, where fans are asked to bring a new Teddy Bear to the designated game. When the Gamblers score their first goal, fans are encouraged to throw their bear(s) on the ice. In its first year, the team collected a little over 400 bears.

Meyer (10/17/01) has appeared in 41 games this season with the Buccaneers, producing three goals and four assists. The North Branch, Minnesota native played last season in Central Illinois, notching six points (3g & 3a) in 13 games. Meyer is committed to the University of Minnesota Duluth.
Perbix leaves the Gamblers after posting 37 points (9g & 28a) in 43 games. The Elk River, Minnesota native saw action in 17 games last season, producing a goal and three assists. Perbix is committed to the University of Minnesota (2019).
Gamblers travel to Madison on Friday before returning to the Resch Center on Saturday for the 20th Annual Teddy Bear Toss. Game time on Saturday is 7:05 PM.
