GAMBLERS FINALIZE ROSTER

The Green Bay Gamblers finalized their roster for their commemorative 25th USHL season on Monday. Per league rule each team can carry a maximum of 23 players. Players released on Monday include forwards Justin Englekes, George Grannis, Nicholas Nardella and defenseman Tim Makowski.

The Gamblers also made a trade acquiring forward Sam Huff from the Waterloo Black Hawks in exchange for a player to be named later. Huff appeared in 42 games last season for the Black Hawks, notching eight goals and seven assists. The Maple Grove, Minnesota native is committed to the University of Minnesota.

This year’s team will be a veteran squad, boasting 21 players with junior hockey experience. List of players with USHL experience include defensemen Ethan Frisch, Tyler Spott, Nick Leitner, forwards Jackson Perbix, Matyas Svoboda, Rory Herrman, Paul Maust, McKade Webster, Noah Prokop, Sam Huff, goaltenders Jake Begley and Evan Fear. Team heads to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania this weekend to kick off the regular season. Gamblers play on Friday versus Sioux City and Saturday versus Dubuque. Start time are 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Both games are available for viewing on HockeyTV.

Gamblers home opener presented by Aurora BayCare is Friday, October 5, as they welcome the Sioux City Musketeers to the Resch Center. First 1,000 fans receive a free Lamers Bus Lines Magnet Schedule.
