TUNDRALAND PUCK WALL SCHOLARSHIP

St. Mary’s Springs High School senior Owen Ahern is the recipient of the 2018 Green Bay Gamblers/Tundraland Home Improvements Scholarship. As the recipient, Ahern receives $1,000 towards college tuition.

Student athletes were asked to submit an application providing “Why they were deserving of the the scholarship.” Ahern’s application was selected from a group of six finalists.

Ahern is a cancer survivor, who battled Non-Hodgskins T-Cell Lymphoma for five years prior to his freshman year. Named team captain as a senior, Ahern is a four year member of the St. Mary’s Springs boys hockey team. This past season, Ahern suffered a knee injury cutting his year short. Off the ice, he is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council and Key Club. He is also a four-time high honor roll recipient, as well as a seven-time honor roll recipient. Ahern’s focus in college is to obtain a business or marketing degree.

Scholarship funds were generated through fans purchasing pucks on the Tundraland Puck wall located outside Section 218 in the Tundraland Concourse.

Ahern will be presented a check during the Gamblers “School is Cool” game Sunday, April, 8th at the Resch Center.
