Green Bay Gamblers assistant coach Cody Chupp has been hired as the head coach of the Lincoln Stars. Chupp will officially join the Stars staff effective immediately as he will replace departing head coach Chris Hartsburg.
Chupp’s duties with the Gamblers included working with the defenseman, video analysis and scouting.
“Cody is an outstanding student of the game and will excel as a head coach,” Said Gamblers Head Coach and General Manager Pat Mikesch. “We have appreciated his time here and wish him and his family the best of luck in Lincoln with this opportunity.”
In Chupp’s second season with the Gamblers, he helped guide the team to the second best regular season record (37-16-4) in the 17-team United States Hockey League. The Resch Center provided quite an advantage, as the Gamblers finished the 2015-2016 season with a league best 23-5-2 record on their home ice.
Prior to his time in Green Bay, Chupp served as the assistant coach at Utica College.
