TEDDY BEAR TOSS COLLECTS 2,117 BEARS

On Saturday (4/17) the Green Bay Gamblers collected 2,117 stuffed animals at the 21st Annual Teddy Bear Toss presented by WPS Health Insurance.   Since the first Teddy Bear Toss in 2000, over 122,000 stuffed animals have been donated to local hospitals and charities that focus on children and families across Northeast Wisconsin.

“I want to thank the fans and corporate partner WPS Health Insurance for their support of the Teddy Bear Toss,” says team president Jeff Mitchell. “With limited attendance and the decision to not toss stuffed animals on the ice, this year’s Teddy Bear Toss was far from what we’re used to. Regardless, the generosity of our fans was amazing, and thanks to their donations a lot of kids and families going through a tough time will have something to brighten their day.”

The Gamblers head to Dubuque this weekend for a pair of games to round out the regular season.  Green Bay has clinched a spot in the Clark Cup Playoffs, which begin on April 30.  Green Bay will play the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the opening round (Best of 3).  It is still undecided if the Gamblers will host or travel to Muskegon. Higher seed hosts all games in the opening round. Stay tuned to gamblershockey.com or the Gamblers Facebook page for playoff information.
