Weekend Preview / April 8-10

The Green Bay Gamblers will play the Chicago Steel in a pair of away games on Friday, April 8, and Saturday, April 9, followed by a matinee game with the Muskegon Lumberjacks on Sunday, April 10, at the Resch Center. DAHMS WINS SECTION CHAMPIONSHIP

Ashton Dahms, Gambler affiliate and forward for Lakeville South High School, led the Cougars to the Minnesota Class 1AA Section Championship in a 4-1 win over Lakeville North. Throughout the section tournament, the high school junior showed his worth to Lakeville South. Through the three games the Cougars played, he led the team in scoring DAHMS WINS SECTION CHAMPIONSHIP

COOPER COACHES GAME 700

Jon Cooper, former Gamblers head coach, Clark Cup winner, and current head coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning, coached his 700th NHL game in a 5-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday, April 1. Cooper becomes the eighth active coach to reach the 700-game mark. His 426 wins is the most by any NHL COOPER COACHES GAME 700

Gamblers Fall in Night Two Against USA

The Green Bay Gamblers (22-29-3-1) lost another matchup against Team USA (24-24-4-1) with a 6-2 score. The first period saw Team USA take control, making it 2-0 heading into the second. This period saw the Gamblers with life, tying the game with scores from Brody Lamb (17) and Cameron Lund (22). However, Team USA responded Gamblers Fall in Night Two Against USA

The Green Bay Gamblers will play Team USA in a pair of games on Friday, April 1, and Saturday, April 2 at the Resch Center. These will be the seventh and eighth meetings between the teams, and the Gamblers are currently 3-3 against Team USA. The teams also played each other last weekend on Sunday, Weekend Preview / April 1-2

SHAUGABAY TAKES RUNNER-UP IN STATE FINAL

Jayson Shaugabay, Gambler affiliate and current forward for Warroad high, helped his team place second in the Minnesota Class A State Championship. In the buildup to the state final, Shaugabay, who also serves as team captain, would give the Warriors some of his best performances. The Minnesota-Duluth commit would lead Warroad in points with seven SHAUGABAY TAKES RUNNER-UP IN STATE FINAL

GAMBLERS TO PARTICIPATE IN FROZEN FOUR

The NCAA set the bracket for the 2022 men’s hockey tournament last Sunday. With this, the Gamblers will see over 20 alumni taking part in the tournament.
