The Green Bay Gamblers dropped a pair of games (5-2 & 6-1) this past weekend to the Sioux Falls Stampede in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Green Bay enters the holiday break with a mark of 10-12-3.
Blake Bride had two goals and goaltender Alec Calvaruso made 29 saves to lead the Stampede to a 5-2 win on Friday. Rory Herrman and Chris Giroday had goals for Green Bay. Evan Fear (23 saves) and Ryan Ullan (6 saves) each saw action in the Gamblers net.
Sioux Falls scored four 2nd period goals in a 6-1 win over Green Bay on Saturday. Brian Chambers and Anthony Romano each had a pair of goals and Jared Westcott chipped in with a goal and three assists for the Stampede. Austin Heidemann tallied the lone goal for Green Bay. Jake Begley (17 saves) and Ryan Ullan (5 saves) each saw action in the Gamblers net.
Green Bay returns to the Resch Center on Thursday, December 27 as they face off against the Dubuque Fighting Saints. It’s the 10th Annual Mitten Toss presented by Fox Communities Credit Union. Fans are encouraged to bring a new pair of mittens to the game, and after the Gamblers first goal toss them on the ice. All mittens collected are given to those in need in our community. It’s also a Festival Foods Family Night; $2 Klement’s jumbo dogs and $2 soda. Disney princesses Belle, Cinderella and Tianna will also be making a guest appearance and Sun Drop presents Skate with the Gamblers following the game. All kids’ tickets $9.00.
