The Green Bay Gamblers won a pair of road games this past weekend, defeating the Central Illinois Flying Aces (6-2) and Waterloo Black Hawks (5-4). The two wins improved the team’s record to
3-4-0 on the 2018-2019 campaign.
The Gamblers tallied four power play goals in a 6-2 win over the Central Illinois Flying Aces on Friday in Bloomington, Illinois. Six different Gamblers found the back of the net and Tyler Spott, Nick Leitner and Jesse Tucker each chipped in with a pair of assists. Goal scorers include Ethan Frisch, who also had an assist, Austin Heidemann, Paul Maust, Nick Zabaneh, Noah Prokop and Gleb Murtazin. Jake Begley got the win in net turning aside 35 shots. Green Bay finished 4-for-7 on the power play and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.
Chris Giroday scored in overtime to propel the Gamblers to a 5-4 win over the Waterloo Black Hawks on Saturday in Waterloo, Iowa. Jesse Tucker and Robert Herrman each tallied a pair of goals. Nick Leitner and Tyler Spott each recorded their second straight multi point games with a pair of assists. Evan Fear turned aside 37 shots for the win. Green Bay finished 0-for-4 on the power play and 3-for-5 on the penalty kill.
Green Bay returns to the Resch Center for a pair of games over the weekend. On Saturday they host Chicago and Sunday afternoon the Dubuque Fighting Saints. Start times are 7:00 pm and 3:00 PM.
