The Green Bay Gamblers selected four defensemen and six forwards in phase one of the USHL Draft on Monday.
With the 8th overall pick, the Gamblers selected defenseman Michael Vukojevic. A product of the Mississauga Rebels Minor Midget AAA program, the University of Michigan recruit appeared in 51 games last season netting 35 points (11 goals, 24 assists).
On the blue line the Gamblers also selected Nicholas Kent (Delta H.A. Wild 15s), Nikolai Charchenko (Holy Family Catholic HS) and Dylan Moulton (TPH Thunder AAA 16U).
Up front the Gamblers selected Dylan Wendt (Detroit Belle Tire 16U), Luke Mylymok (Notre Dame Hounds MAAA), Nicholas Zabaneh (Toronto Marlboros Minor Midget AAA), Sam Antenucci (Detroit Little Caesars 16U), Erik Bargholtz (Appleton United HS) and Brendan Brisson (Shattuck-St. Mary’s 16U).
Phase two of the USHL Draft continues today. The players selected in phase one and two of the draft, returning players, and free agents will be in Green Bay June 11 – 15 for the Gamblers Main Try-out Camp at the Resch Center.
