GAMBLERS ADD DEFENSEMAN

(Green Bay, WI) – The Green Bay Gamblers have added defenseman Victor Mancini.  The University of Nebraska-Omaha recruit returns to the United States after spending the last two years in Sweden. Mancini was selected by the Gamblers in the 7th round of the 2020 USHL Entry Draft. Mancini will wear #7 and be available next week when the Gamblers travel to Michigan for a pair of games versus Team USA.

Mancini (5/26/2002) started the year with Frolunda HC U20, registering five goals and five assists in 19 games. He also saw time with Hanhals IF, notching a goal in five games. Prior to heading overseas, Mancini played for Little Caesars U16, and saw time in the USHL playing three games for Sioux Falls and one game with the U.S. National Program.

Mancini is the son of former Michigan Tech head hockey coach Bob Mancini.  Gamblers head coach/general manager Pat Mikesch played for Mancini for three seasons at

(1993-96) Michigan Tech.

To make room for Mancini, the Gamblers traded defenseman Cade Penney to the Omaha Lancers.  Terms of the deal were not disclosed.  In 14 games with the Gamblers, Penney collected two assists.
