Gamblers Fall in Home Opener

The Green Bay Gamblers (1-2) fell to the Dubuque Fighting Saints (2-1) 7-1 in Green Bay’s home opener at the Resch Center. The Gamblers started the scoring with their first and only goal coming from first-year forward Nicholas Van Tassel (1) seven minutes into the game. CRESPO NAMED TEAM CAPTAIN

(Green Bay, WI) – The Green Bay Gamblers announced on Tuesday that defenseman Jarod Crespo has been named team captain.  Last season, Crespo appeared in 35 games with the Gamblers notching three goals and five assists. The Eastampton, New Jersey native also saw limited time in the Gamblers line-up in 2019-20 and 2018-19, appearing in CRESPO NAMED TEAM CAPTAIN

GAMBLERS RELEASE TRAINING CAMP ROSTER

(Green Bay, WI) – The Green Bay Gamblers opened training camp on Wednesday (9/1) with 29 players from the United States, Canada, and Europe reporting.  Along with daily on-ice practices and off-ice evaluations, Gamblers will play four exhibition games, two versus Dubuque (9/10 & (9/11) and two versus Madison (9/17 & 9/18). DRIES, WELINSKI INK NEW NHL CONTRACTS

Former Gamblers forward Sheldon Dries signed a one-year contract with the Vancouver Canucks. Dries appeared in 40 games with the Colorado Avalanche in 2018-19, recording three goals and three assists.  In 2019-20, Dries spent most of the season in the American Hockey League with the Avalanche’s top affiliate the Colorado Eagles. STRAKY COMMITS TO COLORADO COLLEGE

(Green Bay, WI) – The Green Bay Gamblers announced on Monday that incoming defenseman Ethan Straky has committed to Colorado College.  The Gamblers selected Straky in the 1st round of the 2021 USHL Entry Draft.  Straky will begin his collegiate career in the fall of 2022.
