On Saturday, a season-high crowd of 7,619, tossed a record 7,370 bears on the ice during the team’s annual Teddy Bear Toss. In its 18th year, the Teddy Bear Toss has collected over 100,000 stuffed animals. The Gamblers thank Community First Credit Union, “Presenting” sponsor of the Teddy Bear Toss since 2013.

It did not take long for the fur to hit the ice, as forward Easton Brodzinski scored 1-minute and 40-seconds into the game. Named the #1 star of the game, Brodzinski in his postgame interview was quoted;

“This is a goal that will stay with me the rest of my life. It is truly special.”

Brodzinski tallied a pair of goals and assisted on Brody Stevens’ overtime game winner.

In the 18-year history of the Teddy Bear Toss the Gamblers have donated over 105,055 stuffed animals to local hospitals and other charities across Northeast Wisconsin.

Dating back to 2000, the Teddy Bear Toss is a one time yearly event, where fans are asked to bring a new Teddy Bear to the designated game. When the Gamblers score their first goal, fans are encouraged to throw their bear(s) on the ice. In its first year, the team collected a little over 400 bears.

Along with Community First Credit Union, the Gamblers also thank the fans and supporting partners Aurora BayCare, Green Bay Preble High School FFA, Green Bay Press Gazette, Menominee Casino Resort and WIXX.
