The Green Bay Gamblers (18-19-2-1) started the weekend strong with a 7-1 win over the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders (16-20-1-1) Thursday night at the Resch Center.
The Gamblers wasted no time offensively, scoring 3 goals in the first period to make it 3-0 after the horn. Green Bay would continue to stretch their lead in the second period after a Brody Lamb (13) goal, putting the Gamblers up 4-0 with one left to play. Although Cedar Rapids would get a score back in the third, the onslaught of Gambler goals continued with the team putting up 3 more scores, resulting in a 7-1 win.
The Gamblers received a balanced offensive effort with 1 goal each from: Ryan Greene (14), Matt Deboer (11), John Mittelstadt (9), Brody Lamb (13), Cameron Lund (14), Jarod Crespo (6), and Owen Murray (3). Murray (13) led the team in playmaking with 2 assists. Otherwise, the Gamblers got 1 assist each from: Will Staring (7), Kent Anderson (14), Alex Servagno (15), Damien Carfagna (32) Jackson Hallum (28), John Driscoll (14), Nicholas VanTassell (7), Lund (15), Lamb (10), and Crespo (16). Defensively, goalie Aaron Randazzo played all 60 minutes, saving 38 of 39 shots, allowing 1 goal.
Green Bay and Cedar Rapids will once again play each other tomorrow, February 18, at the Resch Center.
