The Green Bay Gamblers beat the Des Moines Buccaneers 4-3 in the second meeting between the two teams this year. In the last meeting, the Gamblers came away with a 4-0 victory which brings the season series to 2-0 in favor of the Gamblers. It was another high scoring affair for the Gamblers in a game with high tension towards the end. The Gamblers finish off the weekend with two victories that both saw a lot of goals.
The game started off slow with a scoreless first period. However, the Gamblers showed potential in the first by outshooting the Buccaneers 12-6.
It was the Buccaneers that came out firing, scoring just 43 seconds into the start of the second period. Des Moines would find the back of the net again right before the 7-minute mark of the second. The Gamblers would bounce back quickly and bang in three goals before the period was over and take a 3-2 lead into the third. Tyler Paquette, Jesse Tucker, and Benito Posa each found the back of the net in the second.
Once again Des Moines would come out of intermission and score just a minute and a half into the third to tie the game up. About three minutes after the Des Moines goal, Tyler Paquette would light the lamp for the third time this season and second time of the night. This goal would turn out to be the game-winner. Nicholas Grabko was in net tonight for Gamblers and stopped 22 of the 25 shots he faced.
