The Green Bay Gamblers have acquired forward Benito Posa from the Central Illinois Flying Aces. Terms of the trade were not disclosed. Posa will wear #53 and is expected to be in the line-up this Friday in Fargo.
Posa spent the 2017-2018 USHL campaign in Muskegon. In 38 games with the Lumberjacks the Flint, Michigan native tallied two goals, four assists and 100 penalty minutes. This season, Posa has appeared in 20 games with the Flying Aces, notching a goal, three assists and 59 penalty minutes.
Nicholas Kent has also been added to the Gamblers roster. Selected in the 2017 USHL Futures Draft, Kent comes to the USHL after starting the season in the Ontario Provincial League with the Buffalo Jr. Sabres. In 30 games with the Sabres, Kent had 15 points (2g & 13a). The Ladera Ranch, California native played last season in the British Columbia Junior Hockey League with the Wenatchee Wild. Kent will wear #5.
Begley & Schultheis to the NAHL
The Gamblers have announced that goaltender Jake Begley has been traded to the Corpus Christi Ice Rays of the North American Hockey League. Over the past two seasons, Begley appeared in 26 games, posting a record of 6-10-3 to accompany 3.57 goals against average and .883 save percentage.
Defenseman Ben Schultheis was also moved to the North American Hockey League. Schultheis appeared in 23 games this season with the Gamblers, tallying three assists. Schultheis will report to the Minnesota Magicians.
Off to Fargo
The Green Bay Gamblers head to Fargo, North Dakota this weekend for a pair of games against the defending Clark Cup champion Fargo Force. Start time for both games is 7:05 PM.
