The Green Bay Gamblers selected four defensemen and six forwards in phase one of the USHL Draft on Monday.
With the 9th overall pick, the Gamblers selected forward Jackson Kunz. A product of Red River High School in Grand Forks, ND, He appeared in 24 games last season netting 40 points (23 goals, 17 assists). Kunz is committed to North Dakota.
Up front the Gamblers also selected John Waldron (Chicago Fury 16U), Alex Servagno (Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 16U), Matthew DeBoer (Salisbury PS Crimson Knights), Tanner Dickinson (Oakland Jr. Grizzlies 15’s) and Tanner Rowe (Calumet HS Copper Kings).
On the blue line the Gamblers selected John Opilka (St. Louis Blues AAA 15’s), Casey Roepke (University School of Milwaukee Wildcats), Jake Ratzlaff (Rosemount High School Irish) and Jarod Crespo (North Jersey Avalanche 16U).
Phase two of the USHL Draft continues today. The players selected in phase one and two of the draft, returning players, and free agents will be in Green Bay June 10 – 14 for the Gamblers Main Try-out Camp at the Resch Center.
