The Green Bay Gamblers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Michael Bevilacqua has committed to Mercyhurst of the Atlantic Hockey Conference joining teammate Paul Maust.
Bevilacqua is in his second season with the Gamblers posting six points (3 goals, 3 assists), 57 penalty minutes and a plus 7 plus/minus rating in 71 USHL games. Prior to joining the Gamblers, the Hamburg, NY native suited up for the Corpus Christi Ice Rays in the North American Hockey League. He posted 18 points (5 goals, 13 assists) in 60 games in the NAHL.
Bevilacqua becomes the 17th Gambler on the 2017-2018 squad to commit to a NCAA Division I institution. Others include forwards Paul Maust (Mercyhurst), Trenton Bliss (Michigan Tech), Josh Dunne (Clarkson), Noah Prokop (Nebraska- Omaha) Robert Herrman (Arizona State), McKade Webster (Yale), Matt Jennings (Ohio State), Brock Caufield (Wisconsin), Nolan Moyle (Michigan), Lean Bergmann (Western Michigan), defensemen Jackson Charlesworth (Northern Michigan), Ryan Verrier (New Hampshire), Tyler Spott (Northeastern), Andy Carroll (Minnesota State), Michael Vukojevic (Michigan) and Carver Watson (Michigan Tech).
