Adam Gajan and Julian Lutz are competing in the upcoming U20 World Junior Championships, December 26 – January 4 in Gothenburg, Sweden. Tournament features teams from the Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Norway. Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United States. Overall, 37 current and former USHL players will be competing for gold.
Gajan is making his second appearance with Slovakia at the World Junior Championships. Last season, Gajan backstopped Slovakia to the semi-finals, falling to Canada in overtime. With the Gamblers, Gajan leads the USHL in wins (14) and minutes played (1,208). Gajan is a 2nd round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks.
Lutz, also appeared in last year’s World Junior Championships, suiting up for Germany. The 2nd round pick of the Arizona Coyotes, appeared in five games at last year’s tournament, recording two assists. As a Gambler, Lutz has 23 points in 19 games.
Danny Nelson, who appeared in five games with the Gamblers during the 2021-22 campaign, is participating in the tournament with the United States. Nelson is a freshman at Notre Dame.
