The Green Bay Gamblers beat the Madison Capitols 4-3 on First Responder’s Night, clinching home ice for the first playoff series at the Resch Center.
The Gamblers would start the scoring quick with Jimmy Clark putting up the first score in the first two minutes. After that, Madison would string together some goals in the second period while Mykhailo Danylov would bring the game square with one period to go. In the final period, Madison would pull ahead with five minutes to go. But, the Gamblers would quickly respond, with back-to-back goals from Matt DiMarsico and Barrett Hall giving Green Bay the late-game lead and eventually the win, taking home the 4-3 victory in the last regular season game to secure home ice against Dubuque.
Defensively, Kristoffer Eberly was in net the full 60 minutes, saving 33 of the 36 shots, allowing three goals.
All three stars went to the Gamblers, with Hall, Arytom Levshunov, and DiMarsico getting the honors.
The Gamblers are back at the Resch Center this Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for the first round of the Clark Cup playoffs against the Dubuque Fighting Saints.
