The Green Bay Gamblers (17-16-2-1) bounced back with a 3-2 win over the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders (14-18-1-1) Saturday night at the Resch Center.
The Gamblers got to work quickly, scoring twice within the first five minutes thanks to goals from Will Staring (3) and Jackson Hallum (21), making it 2-0 heading first intermission. In the second period, each team would score a goal of their own, making the contest 3-1 with one frame to play. Cedar Rapids would try the comeback, scoring once, but ultimately fell short, giving the Gamblers a 3-2 win.
The Gamblers received a balanced scoring effort, with Will Staring, Jackson Hallum, and Brody Lamb (12) scoring 1 goal each. For playmaking, Cameron Lund (14) and Ryan Greene (20) each gave 2 assists, while Owen Murray (10) and Dominik Bartecko (6) had 1 assist each. Defensively, goalie Rastislav Elias played all 60 minutes, saving 29 of 31 shots, allowing 2 goals.
Green Bay and Cedar Rapids will once again play each other in Cedar Rapids tomorrow Sunday, February 6, in Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.
