The Green Bay Gamblers (15-15-2-1) started their weekend series with the Muskegon Lumberjacks (22-10-2-2) with a 5-4 loss Friday night at the Resch Center.
The first period was a defensive affair until Jackson Hallum (18) scored a power play goal just over halfway through, giving the Gamblers a 1-0 lead heading into first intermission. Muskegon would come out swinging in the second period, scoring three straight goals. However, a Matt Deboer (9) score made it a 3-2 contest with one period left to play. The start of the third saw the Lumberjacks score twice more. The Gamblers started to mount a comeback, including goals from Jarod Crespo (5) and another from Hallum (19). However, the Muskegon lead would prove to be too much, as the Gamblers fell to the Lumberjacks 5-4.
Jackson Hallum continued his stellar offense for the Gamblers, scoring 2 goals in the game. Jarod Crespo and Matt Deboer would also score for Green Bay, scoring 1 goal, along with 1 assist each. Other playmakers include Brody Lamb (8), Alex Servagno (14), Damien Carfagna (29), and Cameron Lund (11), all chipping in with 1 assist each. Defensively, goalie Aaron Randazzo had a game time of 58:36, saving 23 of 28 shots, allowing 5 goals.
Green Bay and Muskegon will play each other again Saturday, January 28, at the Resch Center.
